The hosting was super friendly and the matches were highly competitive

A rugby tour to Biarritz for a team from a school in South London was a fantastic experience, said their party leader Dennis.

“The boys did lots of site seeing, surfing and enjoyed many French and Spanish treats. The chance on the second day for a spot of touch rugby training just across into Spain on La Concha beach in San Sebastian was a real tour highlight.

“The boys had three fixtures against some very tough opposition. The first match was against Stade Handaye which we unfortunately lost, but recovered well the next day to play a very bruising encounter against Anglette. The next day the boys played a triangular tournament with Bidart, winning 24-0 and then our final match against a very physical Biarrittz side, coming out 5-0 on top.

“It was a real test for our guys against some excellent teams in the French Basque region. The hosting was super friendly and the matches were highly competitive. Also, great for the boys to chat with current and former international players and ask them a few probing questions.

“The boys returned after a very memorable tour of rugby while seeing some of France’s beautiful cities.”
