The possibilities are endless… for your art students in Madrid.

In addition to numerous museums and a rich and vibrant street life, Madrid is home to Spain’s three most important art galleries:

  • The Prado Museum: housing some of the world’s finest and most important works, including those of Velazquez, Goya and Titian.

  • The Reina Sofia Museum: a former hospital, the Reina Sofia is a real treasure house of contemporary art, with its highlight being Picasso’s ‘Guernica’; and

  • The Thyssen-Bornemisza Museum: with over 1,000 artworks on display this gallery is home to art from the late 13th century to the 20th century and includes works by Degas, Chagall and Caravaggio.

Students can also visit the Monasterio de El Escorial, the official residence of the Spanish royal family, with its 3,000 rooms and priceless sculptures by Velazquez.
