A life-changing experience for school performance tour group in Belgium

Sometimes music and history come together in an amazing way. On our WW1 school music tours students can be part of history.

Multi-cultural and multi-lingual Belgium is the perfect touring destination. On our specially-created WW1 school music tour, our groups play at the Last Post at the Menin Gate – always a very humbling and moving experience – perform in some lovely outdoor venues and visit some of WWI’s famous battlefields.

Buckinghamshire Head of Performing Arts teacher had an incredible school performance tour to Belgium.

“It was a life-changing experience,” she says, “for staff and students alike which inspired a new, shared understanding and appreciation of WWI through music, drama and dance.”

On a concert her group gave in a bandstand, she comments: “It was a wonderful backdrop for the drama especially – it was a real privilege to have an opportunity to perform there in the town centre.”

And on performing at the Last Post: “The biggest audience I and all my students have ever performed to. It was quite overwhelming as I knew it would be, but the atmosphere made the performance. It was lovely to be involved in this, especially with five buglers playing The Last Post and then the servicemen going the march – it was amazing how it all fitted together.”
