New, exclusive workshop opportunity for history students

Seeing the trenches, museums and cemeteries of the Great War for themselves, always has a big impact on history students.

Starting in April 2018, excavation will start on Hill 80, a reinforced German stronghold from the First World War. Club Europe have teamed up with the lead archaeologist on the project, to provide students with a unique and exclusive educational experience.

This will include:

  • An introduction to First World War archaeology
  • A hands-on workshop involving archaeological finds from the dig - students will have the chance to contribute by sifting soil samples and cleaning artefacts; and
  • A guided tour of the excavation site.

In addition, students can visit: Lochnagar Crater Thiepval Memorial and Visitor Centre, Ulster Tower, Newfoundland Park, Menin Gate Memorial Museum, Passchendaele and various Ypres battlefields and cemeteries, tailored to your group’s learning objectives.

This opportunity is only available until the end of June, when excavation on Hill 80 is due to finish. Please get intouch at travel@club-europe.co.uk as soon as possible to secure your place on this exciting project.
