The Euro Space Centre: one of the world’s premier space museums with fantastic space camps for young people:

  • Take part in a space shuttle mission from lift-off to re-entry
  • Experience a Moon Walk
  • Build and launch your own microrocket
  • Visit the ‘Temple of Planets’
  • Do some astronaut training using multi-axis & rotating chairs, shuttle arms and a zero-gravity wall; and
  • Board the full-scale replica of the American space shuttle and take a flight to the International Space Station.
  • Peace Village Guided tour walk, WW1 - Over old church paths, this interactive torch lit walk takes students as silent witnesses of the Great War. It goes off the beaten track and focuses on topics like the iron harvest, Christmas truces, reburials and more, featuring poems and memorials, but also a New Zealand Haka and Christmas Truce football.
  • The Belfry Tower - This is one of the city's most remarkable monuments with an 88-metre high tower. Climb the 366 steps for great views and to get close to the 47 bells of the Bruges carillon.
  • Church of Our Lady - This church is famous both for its art collection, including the white marble statue of the Madonna with Child by Michelangelo, as well as its 122 metre-high tower.
  • Historium - Experience the Magic of the Middle Ages. Travel back in time to the golden age of Bruges. The Historium is an all-encompassing attraction where sets, film, music and special effects merge into a 35-minute magical experience. Throughout the seven thematic rooms, your senses will be stimulated. Let yourself be carried away by an exciting love story. What was it like to live during the Middle Ages in Bruges around the fifteenth century?

Where to stay

Our students stay at Eurospace Centre in Belgium and at the Peace Village, where facilities include an outdoor football pitch. Peace village is a smart centre with a great outdoor space, modern accommodation and fantastic facilities. It is also close to poignant points of history.

Sample Itinerary

Day One

Arrive and check in at the Eurospace Centre in time for lunch. Afternoon space activities. Evening activities include DVD evening, football/volley ball/outdoor games and a ‘dance’ party in the Grand Hall.

Day Two to Day Four

Three further days of space activities at the Eurospace Centre.

Day Five

Check out and travel by coach to Ypres. Visit the Menin Gate. Walk to the In Flanders Fields Museum and take part in the Coming World Remember me workshop. Check in to the Peace Village. Late afternoon WW1 guided visit, A Walk of Remembrance.

Day Six

In the morning go for a guided buike tour. Border By Bike’ is a fun countryside ride, north towards the Dutch border. In the afternoon visit the Historium and experience the Magic of the Middle Ages. Travel back in time to the golden age of Bruges.

Day Seven

Check out of your hotel and depart for return journey to school.
