Tom Floyd from our concert team went out on tour with some of our groups in the summer to film their experiences.
You can find the short film he made from his trip on our main school music tours page.
“I was very lucky to be given the task of filming several of our music groups this summer and making a short film showing what they got up to,” said Tom. “It was an intense week and a half, involving eight ensembles giving ten concerts in four countries and nowhere near enough sleep!”
“However, it was truly a privilege to witness such diverse music-making and the warm camaraderie among all of the groups. When you spend the majority of the year in the office working on the logistics of our tours, it’s easy to forget exactly what it is you’re helping to organise.
“More than just concerts, travel and excursions, school music tours are the most incredible way for ensembles to socialise, bond and grow while doing what they do best.
“We wanted to create a film that captured the variety of musicianship shown by our groups and the amazing experiences they enjoy every year. We are indebted to all those who took part and I would personally like to thank them for all for their amazing musicality, hospitality and generosity.”
