Good news for school ski trips

A report issued by the School Travel Forum (STF) has found that there’s been an increase in the number of school ski trips taken by UK schools this year with groups sizes also up.

It’s good to hear that our next generation of skiing enthusiasts are alive and well.

Over 90% of ski trips for schools are organised with STF members and teachers told the STF that 88% of schools prefer to use a specialist school ski trip operator.

Austria and France remain numerically the most popular destinations. Among the top reasons for a choosing a resort, ski leaders said they looked at the height of resort and its snow record, the location of hotels within the resort and the facilities for beginners.

Price and cost were high on the list of most teachers’ replies, but the report warns that ‘reliance on price alone can lack prudence’ saying, ‘experience has shown that any offer should be considered like-for-like.’
