Our ski team - where it all began - Jo

In the second in our series of blogs, introducing you to our wonderful ski team, this week it’s the turn of our Reps and Operations Manager, Jo Becker.

“I have worked for Club Europe for three years now. I am responsible for the operations for Italian and French ski tours, and also for the recruitment and management of all of our reps.

“Club Europe is one of the best companies I’ve ever worked for, mainly due to their strong customer and staff ethos. We always make sure that the customer has the best possible tour while they are away with us, and as staff of Club Europe, we are lucky enough to work in an environment where the company looks after its employees.

“I think that’s why we have such high staff retention!

“I joined the skiing world a lot later than most, doing my first season at 24. I was privileged to do my first season in Breckenridge where there was no such thing as “bad snow”, and the mountains were covered from November to May. My second season was in Chamonix, which was very different to my experience in the States, but equally enjoyable. After that I spent a few years living in Meribel, which is as beautiful in the summer as it is in the winter.

“Upon returning to the UK, I got involved in organising sports events, surf events for Quiksilver, tennis events for the ITF, and even managed to work at the Beijing and London Olympics.

“At the end of the London Olympics I decided that I wanted to be involved in the ski industry again and I was fortunate to be offered a job with Club Europe, combining all the operational skills I learnt working in events with everything I knew about skiing and ski resorts from my time living there.

“Skiing and snowboarding, and being in the mountains in general is good for the soul. I love working for an industry and a company that can offer such great life experiences.”
