Easter Skiing: Debunking Five Common Myths

I would never go skiing at Easter!” we hear you cry on receiving an offer for an Easter school ski trip.

We thought it was time to clear the air and leave you wondering why you’ve never considered spring skiing before.

1. The ski season is over Not true! Most resorts are open until the end of March or even April while those on glaciers are, of course, open all year. Quieter resorts mean less queuing for lifts, more space in your hotel and ski teachers with more time and patience for beginners.

2. There’s not enough snow People often opt for the safer times of January and February where they believe snow is a sure thing. But even in 2017, after an unusually warm February, we had a really cold spell at Easter, so our school ski trip groups enjoyed fresh snowfalls every morning.

3. There are more injuries You may worry that slushy snow can lead to more accidents. However, our expert ski schools will always encourage you to get out early to enjoy freshly-bashed pistes and crisp conditions. More space and a relaxed vibe on the slopes also mean fewer chances of crashing!

4. It’s too close to exams Clearly this is a very valid concern. But maybe a week of physical exercise and fresh air is the perfect antidote to too much revision? Or consider opening up the trip to younger year groups who could really benefit from the bonding experience that a school ski trip offers.

5. It’s too expensive Although Easter is a busy holiday period, student ski trips are actually very good value with some great discounts available on top youth hostels. Spring skiing will always make your ski trip more affordable to those students who may benefit the most.

Prices for our 2018 spring ski programme are currently reduced by £117 per student. Call Cath or Luke on Freephone 0800 496 4996 for a quote today! Or click on the link to find out more about all our wonderful ski trips for schools.
