5 Top Tips for Choosing a School Ski Company

If you’re thinking of organising a school ski trip, one of your first questions might well be who do I choose to help me? Most schools do use tour operators to help them but how do you find the one that will be best for you?

Talk to a colleague

A recommendation from a fellow teacher is the easiest and safest way to choose a travel company. Bear in mind some companies also organise music and educational trips so talk to staff in other departments about who they use.

Are they licensed?

This isn’t as technical as it sounds. Look for the ABTA and ATOL logos as well as membership of relevant professional associations, such as the School Travel Forum (STF). The logos should be clearly visible on the company’s website.

Are they listening?

Do they offer what you really want? A good tour operator will listen to you and do their best to meet your requirements.

Can you go and have a look?

Preview trips are a great opportunity to see the ski resort and accommodation first-hand. Seeing it for real will answer many of your questions, so ask if they can arrange this for you.

Do they provide value for money?

Cheapest is not necessarily the best and there may be hidden extras down the line. Check their surcharging policy, insurance and guarantees.
