Cultural, emotional and linguistic benefits of school trip to the Rhineland

  • Jul 13, 2015

A tour for German language students to the Rhineland earlier this month has yielded educational as well as social benefits.

Cathy, the Oxfordshire’s school’s Party Leader said: “The programme linked up with our curriculum needs in most areas and the educational benefits were cultural, emotional and linguistic.”

In addition to their German language lessons, the students went on a guided tour of the Weingut Carl Emert winery, took a boat trip on the Rhine, explored Bernkastel-Kues, visited Cochem Castle and went to Trier with its world-famous Porta Nigra, Imperial Baths and Amphitheatre. They also found time to swim and enjoy some mini golf.

Cathy summed up: “Dane and Victoria were great. Many thanks to all – you were very understanding for a teacher who has too much on to always be on top of everything!”
