These are the words of a Head of Performing Arts from a school in Bristol, whose students have just come back from a fantastic Performing Arts trip to New York.

In addition to workshops taught by Broadway performers in which students learnt a musical number from a current Broadway show, the group enjoyed some of the incredible sights of this great city, including:

  • A behind-the-scenes tour of Radio City Hall
  • A visit to the Top of the Rock at the famous Rockefeller Center
  • A NYC TV and Movie tour, seeing 40 locations used in TV shows and films
  • A Broadway play, An American in Paris
  • A tour of the Lincoln Center for Performing Arts; and
  • A trip to the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island

The students also enjoyed a make a movie workshop and ate at Planet Hollywood.

Karen said: “We had a super time and I don’t think you could have improved on it. The students loved the variety and the busy schedule.

“I loved American in Paris and Fiddler on the Roof - but also 9/11 for the poignant memories which will stay with me. [The trip] linked with Theatre Studies, GCSE Drama and Dance – covered a great part of performance work, script work and career ideas.

“Thank you so much for all your support!”
