CERN science trip a very ‘worthwhile educational experience’ says Physics teacher

This summer students from Amersham had a wonderful trip to CERN, the European organisation for Nuclear Research in Geneva that operates the world’s largest particle Physics laboratory.

Club Europe’s Educational Tour Manager Robert Fox, accompanied the school on their trip. Jeremy the trip’s leader commented:

“Robert was very good and professional in all his dealings. He responded quickly to emails and he sorted out boarding passes whilst we were in Geneva. It was really good to be able to actually meet him in Geneva. Overall it was a worthwhile educational experience. Geneva is lovely and very picturesque. CERN tour was very good and informative and pitched at the right level.

Rob was delighted to see at first hand the benefits to students of our trips to CERN and commented:

“It was great to see the students really engaging with the subject in CERN, which has so much to offer our science students. The trip fully supports the A-Level Particle Physics modules in the curriculum for all exam boards. Students get a chance to learn about the very latest discoveries from the people that actually witnessed it happen.

“One such highlight, which all the students had talked about in class, was the recent discovery of the exotic tetraquark particles that they were able to ask scientists on site about.”
