Music Tours to Tuscany

  • Italy’s most beautiful towns and cities
  • Home to Michelangelo’s ‘David’
  • Good audiences all year round

Tuscany is synonymous with striking architecture, alluring landscape and historic towns, all of which makes for a wonderful music tour destination. Florence is the region’s capital and is widely regarded as one of the prettiest cities in the world. Spectacular architecture such as El Duomo stands beside vast collections of art whilst the streets are bustling with stylish designer boutiques and cafés. The region has a number of other stunning cities including Sienna and Pisa and also boasts an impressive coastline. Exploring the coast and popular coastal resort of Viareggio, with its large sandy beach offers a contrasting excursion.

Extra Activities/Excursions

  • Florence: Duomo with Brunelleschi’s famous dome, Pitti Palace, Ponte Vecchio, Piazza delle Signoria.
  • Pisa: home of the precipitous leaning tower, campanile and cathedral, all located on the one ‘campo’.
  • San Gimignano: exquisite walled town with 13 lofty towers (there were once 75 of them!) representing past family power struggles.

Where to stay

We recommend Montecatini, a fashionable and relaxed spa town in the beautiful Tuscan countryside about 40 km from Florence, for our groups. It is a relaxed and spacious antidote to the heat and bustle of Florence with a large selection of hotels.

Concerts

Whatever time of year you chose to travel, Tuscany has a superb range of venues suitable for all ensembles looking to do a music tour. Over the summer, festivals are plentiful throughout the region and groups can perform in the gardens of the Villa Bottini in Lucca and the Jazz Festival in Camaiore. Choirs with a sacred repertoire have the chance to perform on the steps of Florence’s majestic El Duomo whilst for other ensembles, Montecatini holds a concert series at the beautiful spas.

Music festival opportunity

"Lovely venues, lovely audiences, comfortable accommodation. Alahree was very prompt and efficient with her responses and understood our needs well."

Gill Chapman, Ceceilia Singers

"It’s hard to think how anything could have improved on this trip – it was superb in every way! The response to the whole tour has been entirely positive. Alahree was first class as ever and it was a pleasure to work with Alberto. The inspection visit in November was hugely beneficial and made the whole process of planning the concerts and itinerary so much more straightforward."
