Quintessentially Andalucian, Seville is the region’s capital and biggest city. As well as imposing Gothic, Roman and Islamic architecture, the city has tranquil parks, tiny winding streets and colourful plazas, all bathed during springtime in the fresh aroma of orange blossom. Cordoba, a little further inland, is a smaller, more intimate city with a walled old town and an extraordinary and unique cathedral that was once a mosque, as well as the magnificent Alcazar castle.
