The enchanting little Mediterranean island of Malta is a fantastic destination for a music tour.
Malta has some great performing venues for bands from its many squares and courtyards in the towns and villages across the island, to the Upper Barrakka Gardens in Valletta, where tourists gather to listen to the canons that fire every lunchtime.
Choirs are spoilt for choice with plenty of churches, as well as the prestigious cathedral of St. John’s Co-Cathedral in Valletta, that welcome choirs to perform as part of a service or to give a recital.
When you’re not performing, there’s lots to see and do. Visit the authentic medieval Mdina Dungeons and take a walk through Valletta, the island’s capital, with its fortifications, grand harbour and beautiful Baroque buildings.
Or take a boat to the Blue Grotto, a magical natural cave.
