Part of the huge Sport Amadé region, the Gastein valley encompasses four different mountains and their related ski resorts of Gastein, Dorfgastein, Bad Hofgastein and Sport Gastein. Over 175 km of skiing awaits you, going up to heights of over 2,500 metres, thus ensuring great conditions until well after the British Easter holidays.
From your accommodation in the centre of Bad Gastein, take the lift straight up to the Stubnerkogel which is a short ride from the Angertal nursery slopes. Enjoy swooping down exceptionally wide runs and improve your technique on the easy and intermediate slopes. A few steep blacks and a long ski route will provide a challenge for the more able skiers. Other highlights include a fun slope, a giant slalom course with a Skimovie feature and a snowpark. From the Stubnerkogel, take in the spectacular views of one of the longest suspension bridges in Europe at 2,300 metres, the Glocknerblick and Talblick viewing platforms and the Rock Trail (Felsenweg).
View piste mapIt goes without saying that Bad Gastein’s main non-ski attraction are the spas (Bad in German). While the teachers can enjoy a well-earned spa evening at the Alpentherme, students can let off steam with the Black Hole rafting slide, timed speed slide, Lazy River and multimedia Dome. Out of the water, test your head for heights on the Flying Waters zipwire which takes you on a 300-metre ride from the Villa Solitude, over the river and the Gastein waterfall. Enjoy an evening exploring the historic town centre or make use of our standard evening programme of ice-skating, ice-hockey, and bowling.
Snow Security: Snow cannons operate in all our resorts to assist satisfactory snow cover on the lower slopes. This means in many Austrian resorts, skiing is now possible from early December until late April making Easter skiing an attractive proposition.
Snow Guarantee: We will pay up to £30 per person per day towards additional costs of transport and lift pass if all the lifts in your resort are closed due to adverse weather conditions or lack of snow.
We offer a free place ratio of 1:8 or 1:7 for a group of 42 full paying students on a single-decker coach. For flight groups we offer a 1:10 free place ratio.
We can send you mini-brochures to hand out at school, a Power point Presentation and our film link to film here for assemblies and parents’ meetings you may wish to hold.
