The charming Tyrolean village of St Johann offers great skiing at beginner and intermediate level for school ski trips. With the excellent award-winning ski school in St. Johann, your students will quickly master the wide selection of blue runs back down to the town. You can extend your lift pass to cover Kitzbühel, a short drive away, which is one of Europe's most attractive and popular ski resorts. Test your ski legs on the Hahnenkamm, venue of the famous annual Hahnenkamm World Cup downhill race.
There is plenty of traditional après ski available in the beautiful village of St. Johann. Almost all the village is traffic-free making it safe and very easy to supervise during a shopping trip. Why not take a horse-drawn sleigh ride up to a traditional restaurant for a hot chocolate or Gluhwein (mulled wine)? Bowling, ice skating and swimming are in the village and our popular ice hockey match is within easy reach in Zell am See.
Ski Juwel encompasses two previously independent ski areas - Alpbach and Wildschönau - now connected by lifts as well as a very efficient ski bus service, making it one of the Top 10 ski resorts in the Tyrol. Coach groups will definitely benefit from the ability to choose a different mountain on different days.
A more tranquil area than the busy resorts of the Kitzbühler Alpen and Zillertal, beginners are well served by a variety of blue runs. As your students gain confidence, our established and friendly ski school can take them to explore the region with plenty of intermediate runs to provide some interesting and challenging skiing. Once your group has conquered these mountains, you can even take the gondola to the Schatzberg to enjoy the rest that the area has to offer.
Innsbruck, the capital of the Tyrol and twice host of the Winter Olympics is a short coach ride away and great for evening activities, including the indoor Olympic centre and ice hockey stadium. Evening activities closer to hand include swimming at Waves in Wörgl, night-skiing in Reith and bowling in Kramsach. The pretty village of Brixlegg offers souvenir shopping and plenty of cafés for a well-earned hot chocolate.
We are delighted that this perfect gem of a resort has become a perennial favourite for our school ski trip groups. The sunny and snow-sure Kühtai valley is the highest ski resort in Austria but a well-kept secret far from the madding ski crowds! Beginners are well-catered for in Gries itself, while the 2020 metre-high Kühtai is a short drive away.
Beginners are well-served with a magic carpet on the nursery slope and the new KidsPark especially designed for all ages to practise jumps and slides in a safe environment. The modern lift system means you can access the wide-ranging 40 km of slopes with minimal waiting times, while real explorers can now also ski in Hochoetz. A free skibus departs from Kühtai to Ochsengarten every 30 minutes.
Innsbruck, the capitol of Tyrol and twice host of the winter Olympics, is a short coach ride away and great for evening activities, including the indoor Olympic centre and ice hockey stadium. Other evening entertainments arranged especially for students on school ski trips include Tyrolean evenings (with music and traditional food), snow shoe and torch-lit hiking, night skiing and a visit to a reindeer farm!
Our standard packages include a packed lunch, but we can organise a hot mountain lunch at a supplement.
Snow Security: Snow cannons operate in all our resorts to assist satisfactory snow cover on the lower slopes. This means in many Austrian resorts, skiing is now possible from early December until late April making Easter skiing an attractive proposition.
Snow Guarantee: We will pay up to £30 per person per day towards additional costs of transport and lift pass if all the lifts in your resort are closed due to adverse weather conditions or lack of snow.
Yes, your rooms are retained until departure in most resorts.
