A centre for artists, writers and performers, with some of the best museums, theatres and art galleries in the world, an Art trip to New York – one of the world’s most exciting cities - makes the ideal educational visit. The city’s Museum of Modern Art (MoMa) has the world's most comprehensive collection of modern art, including works by Matisse, Picassso, Cezanne, Rothko and Pollock. While the Guggenheim houses Impressionism, Post Impressionism, Surrealism, Minimalism and twentieth century movements, such as conceptual art.
Or you can visit the Metropolitan Museum of Art which has an extraordinary array of paintings, sculpture and precious objects from across the world, some of which are thousands of years old. Students can study the buildings of innovative architects Frank Gehry and Santiago Calatrava or simply explore the city photographing its changing urban landscape.
Day 1
Fly out in the morning and arrive in the evening.
Day 2
Morning sightseeing cruise – views of the city skyline and the Statue of Liberty. Then visit the International Centre of Photography. In the afternoon visit the Whitney Museum. Enjoy a Broadway show in the evening.
Day 3
Morning at the MoMA. Afternoon visit to the Metropolitan Museum of Art. Evening trip to the Top of the Rock observation deck for fantastic views over the city.
Day 4
Morning walking tour - “Art And Graffiti Tour Of Brooklyn”. Radio City Music Hall tour in the afternoon and a Broadway Show in the evening.
Day 5
Morning visit to the Guggenheim. Last minute chance in the afternoon for some sightseeing and shopping before transfer to the airport.
Day 6
Arrive home

Visit the Metropolitan Museum of Art (MET) whose collection offers a chronological, geographical, and thematic exploration of the history of art from around the world.
Go to the Guggenheim Museum, an internationally renowned modern and contemporary art museum and one of the most significant architectural icons of the 20th century.
Visit MOMA, with its extraordinary exhibitions and the world's finest collection of modern and contemporary art.
Depending on your budget we can arrange youth hostel or hotel accommodation in Manhattan, so all the city’s attractions will be on your doorstep. Prices are based on YMCA Westside (standard room).

You should book your tour between 8-18 months in advance. This will give us time to secure the best possible accommodation and excursion programme for your tour and you will have ample time for fundraising should you need to do so.
