Known as the Pearl of the Danube
We are thrilled to offer a number of nature conservation programmes in Hungary, all of which can support the CAS aspect of the IB Diploma Programme. Groups can also enjoy some time in Budapest, an intriguing city known as the Pearl of the Danube. Formed of the two towns Buda and Pest in 1873, Budapest contains many places of genuine interest, including the Royal Palace, the Parliament buildings and the Fisherman’s Bastion, as well as museums, parks, and fun activities for our educational school trip groups.
Sample Itinerary
Day 1
Arrival in Budapest. Meet your coach and driver for a transfer to your hotel. Enjoy an evening meal at the accommodation.
Day 2-4
Transfer to the selected nature protection project area. Approximately 6 hours of hands-on activities before transfer back to Budapest. Evening meal at the accommodation, followed by an evening activity, or time to rest.
Day 5
A day of relaxation and fun, a reward for the students’ hard work over the past few days. Spend the morning in a local waterpark, Aquaworld, before a picnic lunch on Margaret Island, a tranquil spot in the middle of the Danube in central Budapest. Spend the afternoon taking part in an escape room activity - students must break locks, codes and puzzles using their logic, creativity and imagination. Enjoy a farewell dinner cruise on the Danube in the evening, with live traditional folk music.
Day 6
Free time for shopping before transfer to Budapest airport. Afternoon flight home.

Yes, there are many advantages to this. One is that greater numbers sign up which means a lower tour price per student. Another is that a diverse (two-subject) itinerary can broaden the horizons of both ‘groups’ though, of course, we can create separate agendas for each if preferred.
