Iceland is one of the most enthralling and fascinating geographical destinations for a Geography field trip. Take a bath in the famous, magical Blue Lagoon, a unique geothermal spa surrounded by a lava field and black sandy beaches. Discover the geographical wonders of Iceland’s geysers, glaciers, waterfalls, volcanos and implosion craters. Or straddle America and Europe on the site where their tectonic plates meet in the Þingvellir National park.
Day 1
Depart on an early morning flight to Keflavik International Airport. Afternoon arrival at your accommodation. Evening meal and time to settle in.
Day 2
Spend the morning exploring the city of Reykjavik. After lunch, take a guided tour of the city which will include the old town centre, Parliament, the Cathedral, the harbour, the National Museum and the Arbaer Open Air Museum. Afternoon visit to the Laugardalur Park and geothermal swimming pool. Evening Northern lights experience in the winter time.
Day 3
Full day Golden Circle Classic Tour. Morning trip to the ƥingvellir National Park where you can study the tectonic plates in the northern point of the þingvallavatn Lake. Afternoon visit to the Geysir Exhibition Centre to learn more about the Geography of Iceland. Or afternoon visit to Gullfoss, Iceland’s most famous waterfall.
Day 4
Full day on the South Shore. Morning driving to the Hellisheiöi power plant located in a high temperature geothermal area, then drive towards Selfoss town and the village of Hvolsvöllur for a swim. Afternoon visit to Sólheimajökull, an enormous black glacier from the Myrdalsjökull icecap and Vik, Iceland’s most southerly village.
Day 5
Visit to Reykjanes Peninsula. Drive past the Presidential residence of Bessastaðir and to the town of Hafnarfjörður, situated picturesquely on an ancient lava flow. Visit Lake Kleifarvatn and small hot springs, mudpots, boiling pools and see other types of geothermal activity. Finish the day with a visit to the Blue Lagoon.
Day 6
Depart in the morning for your overnight flight from Keflavik International Airport.
Day 7
Morning arrival home.
A unique mineral-rich lake formed from geothermal seawater, comprising blue-green algae and white silica mud.
Situated on the glacial river Hvita, this is a spectacular 70-metre deep 2.5km- long white glacial cascade of water.
A small volcano 78metres above the sandur outwash plain.

From where you can see the 66-metre high Reynisdrangar needles.
Watch the Strokkur Geyser erupt, shooting 15 metres of water skywards every 6-8 minutes and feel the floor vibrate in a simulation of a 5.1 Richter scale earthquake or visit the swimming at pools in Hvolsvöllur, Hella, Selfoss and on Heimaey.

Once your student travel tour is booked, it is safely in our hands. We will only ask for you assistance in understanding your specific requirements and you will be responsible for ensuring that the dates on our checklist are adhered to. During the process, we will also ask you to provide accurate student and teacher name, passport and dietary requirement details where appropriate.
We offer you all the advice and support you require - every step of the way. Rest assured; we organise everything.
Yes, there are many advantages to this. One is that greater numbers sign up which means a lower tour price per student. Another is that a diverse (two-subject) itinerary can broaden the horizons of both ‘groups’ though, of course, we can create separate agendas for each if preferred.
