This unique school trip to Japan will immerse and engage students in Japan’s unique culture. Visiting temples, a Homestay Farm, local restaurants and shrines, in both Tokyo and Kyoto, this trip offers an authentic glimpse into the real customs and traditions of this amazing country.
Day 1
Depart for the airport for flight to Japan.
Day 2
Arrive at Narita or Haneda (Tokyo) airport. Transfer to Nikko World Heritage site for a visit. Dinner at a Japanese banquet room. Enjoy a Japanese hot spring bath “Onsen”, wearing a cotton Kimono, and stay in a traditional Ryokan.
Day 3
Short visit to the Nikko Toshogu Shrine, a world heritage site. Transfer to farm stays area of Tochigi Pref to experience a Farm Stay. Stay in a local home or in local accommodation.
Day 4
Half day sightseeing in Tokyo, visiting the Asakusa Temple with its Nakamise arcade. Take part in a Taiko workshop or enjoy a Sumida river cruise. Lunch with Sushi making experience. Check in to your hotel.
Day 5
Ride the bullet train to Kyoto. Half day sightseeing in Kyoto, visiting the Nijo Castle, Kiyomizdera Temple, Gion district. Early dinner at a local restaurant, Japanese dining experience. Make your way to your hotel.
Day 6
Full day’s sightseeing in Hiroshima & Miyajima, also visiting Miyama a small village to interact with local people. Farewell dinner at the Local restaurant.
Day 7
Transfer to Kansai (Osaka) airport to begin your journey home.
This includes the Nikko Toshogu Shrine, Yomeimon gate which was constructed in 1636 and decorated with more than 500 carvings; the Toshogu Shinto Shrine, Buddhist temples dedicated to the Shogun, a designated national treasure.
Also known as Sanja-sama (Shrine of the Three Gods), this is one of the most famous Shinto shrines in Tokyo. The shrine honours the three men who founded the Sensō-ji and is part of a larger group of sacred buildings in the area.
A shrine dedicated to the deified spirits of Emperor Meiji and his wife, Empress Shōken.
An area is known internationally as a centre of Japanese youth culture and fashion with many youth-oriented, independent boutiques and cafés.
This introduce students to traditional Japanese drumming technique, including warm-up exercises and stretching, they will learn the fluency between music and movement.
This popular shrine is thought to have as many as 32,000 sub-shrines throughout Japan and sits at the base of a mountain with trails up the mountain containing many smaller shrines, each donated by a Japanese business.

The most pleasant time of year to come to Europe is between May and September; you may wish to consider this when planning your tour. Summer temperatures across Europe range from 18-35 degrees Celsius. European cities in winter can also offer many interesting cultural experiences that you may enjoy.
We can send you mini-brochures to hand out at school and a PowerPoint presentation for assemblies and parent’s meetings you may wish to hold. We also have an interactive promotional poster you can put up on walls and noticeboards. This will make it easier for you to get your students excited about your plans.
