Valkenburg is situated in the south of the Netherlands, near to the three point border with Germany and Belgium. As well as the fantastic venues, there are a great blend of attractions and excursions from a majestic ruined castle to modern attractions such as the 3 borders maze. Valkenburg makes for a great base for a music tour, to fit in 3 countries in one trip and explore the delightful but lesser known towns of Maastricht and Bonn.
Day 1
Travel to Dover for morning ferry. Late afternoon arrival and time to explore the resort.
Day 2
Excursion to Vaals, the meeting point of 3 countries. Travel to Aachen, Germany’s oldest city for afternoon performance. Evening visit to one of the region’s vineyards for a wine-tasting.
Day 3
Morning in Maastricht to enjoy a boat trip and to see the Cathedral. Return to Valkenburg via the American Military Cemetery in Margraten.
Day 4
Depart for journey to Calais.
We recommend staying in centrally located, characterful 2* and 3* hotels which cater well for music tour groups.
A: We work hard to generate excellent attendance at each concert, as we understand that an appreciative audience makes all the difference. We produce eye-catching posters and handbills, which are displayed and distributed in the environs of your concerts. We also advertise your concerts in online and hard copy local What’s On Guides as well as newspapers, by way of press releases. In addition, we invite local dignitaries, music societies and music students to your concerts. Last but not least, we provide you with posters for your concerts, which will be displayed in your coach and placed on your Club Europe poster board at your venue by your tour manager before each concert.
We accept any group as long as they are used to performing together as an ensemble, even if only to their fellow students and parents. We always ask for a recent recording of your group and we have range of venues on offer that will welcome beginner groups as well as experienced ensembles.
The most pleasant times of year to come to Europe are May to September, therefore you may wish to consider this when planning your tour. Summer temperatures across Europe range from 18-35 degrees Celsius. European cities in winter can also offer many interesting cultural experiences that you may enjoy.
