Lake Garda is the largest and one of the most stunningly beautiful lakes in Italy. Surrounded by mountains which give a spectacular back drop, this picturesque region has so much to offer groups on music tours. Mountain top villages and towns play host to late evening concerts and there are many performance areas next to the lake. Day trips to Venice to explore the waterways, or to the historically rich Verona offer something different to the Lake, whilst the Dolomites are easily within reach. This region is a must for groups looking to experience true Italian culture, atmospheric concerts and superb food on their music tour.
These are transformed in the summer by stages bedecked with flowers, making excellent performance spaces for groups on a music tour. One example is the Largo Piazzola on the north edge of the Lake in Nago. Other performance opportunities include historical sites such as the Amphitheatre in Lavis. We have great contacts across the region and a further sample of the venues our groups play in include the theatre in Brentonico and La Rocca in Garda which is a regular professional venue.
Day 1
Arrive in resort. Rest of the day to explore Nago-Torbole and the local life-guarded beach.
Day 2
Day in Verona for the Roman amphitheatre, The Arena where you can also see an opera and Juliet’s Balcony. An early supper back at the hotel followed by a concert in Garda later that evening.
Day 3
Day at Gardaland theme park. Evening concert in Bardolino.
Day 4
Day in Venice, experience the Vaparetto, visit the Doge’s Palace, St Marks Square, the Music Museum and enjoy delicious ice cream. Return to hotel for dinner and concert in Nago.
Day 5
Morning boat trip to Malcesine then take the cable car up to Monte Baldo. Enjoy some lunch before departure.
The natural beauty and diversity of the area mean that excursions to picturesque spots in the dolomites and small towns surrounding Lake Garda are popular. Nearby, Verona is a historic city with a large Roman Amphitheatre and the chance to stand on Romeo and Juliet’s balcony! There is an impressive cathedral and castle in the Trentino region’s capital Trento and the iconic Venice is easily within driving distance for a day trip.
Hotel Ifigenia in Torbole, right on the Lake at the north end.
You should book your tour between 8-18 months in advance. This will give us time to find the best possible venues for your tour and you will have ample time for fundraising should you need to do so.
Travelling by coach is the most economical and flexible way to tour. Be collected from your meeting point and arrive at your destination in comfort on air-conditioned, high specification coaches. Enjoy the freedom of your own vehicle whilst on tour and travel in comfort with reclining seats and toilet. More and more groups choose to fly. We can arrange your flights from your local airport as well as from London. Once you have arrived at your destination, we can provide transfers to your accommodation and local coach hire throughout your music tour.
The most pleasant times of year to come to Europe are May to September, therefore you may wish to consider this when planning your tour. Summer temperatures across Europe range from 18-35 degrees Celsius. European cities in winter can also offer many interesting cultural experiences that you may enjoy.
