Music Tours to Liguria

  • Italy’s stylish Riviera
  • Cross the border to Monte Carlo
  • Enthusiastic audiences

The region of Liguria is a very well kept secret, with no ‘big names’ to attract the crowds. Dig a little deeper and you discover that the region holds many attractions in its own right. The mountainous terrain creates a magnificent backdrop, beginning right behind the sandy coastline which stretches all the way up to Genoa, the midpoint along the Ligurian coast. Olives and vines clothe the lower slopes, while glorious medieval villages sit snugly above. Down on the coast you will find classy San Remo, home to the annual jazz festival, as well as the established beach resorts of Diano Marina and Alassio. If you want to enjoy a real taste of Italy and perform to some of the largest and most enthusiastic audiences you will come across, Liguria will more than fulfil your aspirations.

Where to stay

The Hotel Robinia in Imperia is a three star hotel located close to the Marina of Porto Maurizio. It offers a good standard of accommodation in twins and triples. All rooms have en suite facilities. The hotel has a bar and a terrace which overlook the marina. It also has its own private beach for which a supplement is payable.

Concerts

The Ligurian people are perhaps some of the friendliest, most appreciative Italians you will ever come across. They are amazed at the talent we bring over; from the least experienced school group to the highest quality youth orchestra, all are appreciated for their achievements. We have established great contacts here over many years, and have organised our own youth band festival in Liguria. Concerts take place in the evening on open-air stages, with excellent technical support and huge audiences, in the coastal towns of Imperia, Alassio and Noli, as well as inland in Camporosso and Dolceacqua.

"Lovely venues, lovely audiences, comfortable accommodation. Alahree was very prompt and efficient with her responses and understood our needs well."

Gill Chapman, Cecilia Singers, Berkshire.

"It was brilliant and everything I expected from a tour and more. Jonathan was brilliant. He was always patient with me and nothing seemed to phase him. Sabine was just wonderful, always willing to listen to what I suggested we wanted from the tour. She has endless patience. Playing at the Last Post was so moving, we felt very privileged to be able to perform at such a moving ceremony."

Cath Danswan, Swindon Choral Society, Wiltshire.
