The Brenta Riviera, the natural extension of the Grand Canal is a landscape area of great historical interest and a wonderful destination for a music tour. The nobles and patricians of the Republic of Venice chose this location for their summer vacations. Here they built their beautiful houses along the river, surrounded by monumental gardens and frescoed by the most important artists of the time such as Palladio, Sansovino, Titian, and Tintoretto.
Concert opportunities are found in the gardens or main halls of some of these historic magnificent houses like Villa Foscarini Rossi and Villa Ducale or in the old square of Dolo. You could also participate in Mass at St. Mark’s Basilica in Venice, perform in Lido di Jesolo, Sottomarina or Chioggia to mention just a few.

Visit Padua, a magnificent city in Northern Italy’s Veneto region. It’s known for the frescoes by Giotto in its Scrovegni Chapel in 1303–05 and the vast 13th-century Basilica of St. Anthony. The basilica, with its Byzantine-style domes and notable artworks, contains the namesake saint’s tomb. In Padua's old town are arcaded streets and stylish cafés frequented by students of the University of Padua, established in 1222.
Visit the Euganean Hills that unexpectedly stand out in the heart of the Venetian plain along with their distinctive conical shapes. Their quite perfect geometry is the stunning outcome of volcanic activity dating back to over 40milion years ago.
Visit Venice, the capital of northern Italy’s Veneto region, built on more than 100 small islands in a lagoon in the Adriatic Sea. It has no roads, just canals – including the Grand Canal thoroughfare – lined with Renaissance and Gothic palaces. The central square, Piazza San Marco, contains St. Mark’s Basilica, which is tiled with Byzantine mosaics, and the Campanile bell tower offering views of the city’s red roofs.
Visit Verona, famous as the setting of Shakespeare’s "Romeo and Juliet." A 14th-century residence with a tiny balcony overlooking a courtyard is said be “Juliet’s House." In Verona you can also visit the famous Arena, a huge 1st-century Roman amphitheatre, which currently hosts large-scale opera performances.
Suitable accommodation can be found in Abano Terme, Jesolo, Sottomarina or Chioggia depending on your needs and budget.
The most pleasant times of year to come to Europe are May to September, therefore you may wish to consider this when planning your tour. Summer temperatures across Europe range from 18-35 degrees Celsius. European cities in winter can also offer many interesting cultural experiences that you may enjoy.
We understand that when you go on a music tour where you stay is really important. All hotels and hostels we use are suitable for music ensembles with many offering rehearsal space and instrument storage. Rooms generally en-suite.
You should book your tour between 8-18 months in advance. This will give us time to find the best possible venues for your tour and you will have ample time for fundraising should you need to do so.
