On the slopes

Every ski ability is catered for on terrain with deep powder bowls and long, wide, groomed runs. It has 10 runs that are more than 4km long. There is an exceptional nursery area and intermediates can ski both sides of the valley and progress easily and swiftly. The north slopes have excellent terrain for beginners and intermediates and are comprehensively served by 16 lifts up to an altitude 2680m at Contrabandieri (“Smugglers Pass”). The south facing slopes provide more challenging terrain for intermediate and advanced skiers, with the added advantage of glacier skiing (subject to weather conditions). Alternatively Ponte di Legno, which is also included in your ski pass provides a beautiful 11km scenic run with which to end the day and is linked to Tonale by a gondola in two stages as well as a free ski bus service.

As you’d expect in a purpose-built resort there’s a good choice of après ski. Here, none of it is particularly expensive. Tonale also has a good range of friendly bars, shops, and restaurants used to catering for both local and visiting youngsters on a school ski trip.
