Nestled in the sunny Granada region of Spain and host to the 2017 Freestyle & Snowboard World Championships, Sierra Nevada has so much to offer student ski groups. Its unique location means it is the only ski resort with views of the Mediterranean! You can ski here from the end of November to early May and it includes one of the highest peaks in Europe – the Veleta peak – which is 3,398m high. This spectacular resort not only enjoys such high altitude, it also benefits from 35 km of snowmaking on 44 slopes, making it snowsure throughout the season. The resort offers skiing for all abilities with 124 slopes in an area of 106 km. There is also a special Borreguiles beginners area, which has its own chair lifts and covered ski carpets.
View piste mapThere’s a lot for your students to do when they’re not on the slopes. They can go tubing, bike skiing and sledging in Mirlo Blanco or take a ride on its alpine roller coaster. Watch a film in the Cinema Room of one of the hotels nearby. Or why not enjoy some night skiing or even a one-hour night ski lesson? We can also arrange a special (non alcoholic) Mango party at your hotel. Other local activities on offer include: Stargazing; a Geologist Mountain Walk; a Craft Workshop; a Treasure Hunt; or a trip to the swimming pool at Montebajo Sport Club in Pradollano.
Your accommodation is situated in the village of Pradollano, a compact, traffic-free resort. All the lifts return to the village so you can never get lost! A wide range of après-ski activities, shops, cafés and bars will keep your group entertained all week with no need for extra transport.
Due to Pradollano’s proximity to Granada, this is an ideal location for groups looking for an enhanced cultural programme to combine with their traditional ski trip. Add one or two nights in this historic city and include a visit to the Alhambra, the Science Museum as well as the Palaces of the Lost Kings of United Spain. Flamenco evenings, Spanish language and culinary courses are also available on request.
We are able to offer you an optional very cost-effective pre-paid excursion programme to suit you. The choice typically includes swimming, bowling, watching a local ice hockey match, a Tirolean evening, ice curling in addition to in-house activities. Full details and prices will be given with your quotation. Please note that snow based activities may not be available at Easter.
Once your school ski trip is booked, it is safely in our hands. We will only ask for your assistance in understanding your specific requirements and you will be responsible for ensuring that the dates on our checklist are adhered to. During the process, we will also ask you to provide accurate student and teacher names, passport and dietary requirement details where appropriate.
We offer a free place ratio of 1:8 or 1:7 for a group of 42 full paying students on a single-decker coach. For flight groups we offer a 1:10 free place ratio.
