This gracious city, straddling the Danube, has been at the heart of European affairs since the dawn of time. From Celtic town, Roman settlement to Imperial capital, it has been home to Freud as well as countless composers; Haydn, Mozart, Beethoven, Brahms, Mahler and Bruckner all lived and worked here. Today Vienna is full of charm, beauty and interest. The old city ‘Innere Stadt’, surrounded by the elegant ‘Ringstrasse’, is relatively compact and easily explored on foot. St Stephen’s cathedral, at its heart, dominates the skyline.
View mapIn Vienna itself, groups can give concerts in the magnificent cathedral of St Stephens, where both lunchtime recitals and participation in Mass are possibilities. Outside the city, there are some beautiful spa towns which provide our groups with churches, bandstands and spa halls in which to perform. These concerts are attended regularly by highly appreciative audiences and help give our groups a truly memorable, as well as personal experience.
