Dublin’s musical scene is one of the richest in Europe and embraces all types of musical style. Every street corner seems to buzz with live music, from traditional Irish music-making in the countless pubs to classical concerts in the magnificent National Concert Hall at the heart of the city. Dublin also drips with literary connections; James Joyce, George Bernard Shaw and Oscar Wilde all lived and worked in Dublin and there are many attractions across the city that can be visited. And, of course, there is lots of fun to be had in the city, ensuring a stay in Dublin is one our groups will never forget.
View mapChoirs can enjoy a performance in St Patrick’s cathedral where regular lunchtime recitals are held throughout the year. The church of St Ann is also a wonderful formal choral venue which is frequently used for concerts. Bands can perform in venues right across the city, which include gardens, bandstands and amphitheatres.

Jacobs Inn Hostel is Dublin’s most modern hostel, boasting a fantastic city centre location. Purpose built for accommodating groups as opposed to individual guests, Jacobs Inn Hostel is the perfect accommodation base for you. With its excellent facilities, which include all rooms with private bathroom, TV and lounge areas and the possibility to rehearse, as well as its perfect location Jacobs Inn Hostel Dublin has proved exceptionally popular with our groups. Our groups enjoy traditional Irish breakfasts and evening meals when they stay in Dublin, which we arrange just around the corner at O'Shea's.
We understand that school music tours are considered as a reward or holiday for many groups and that where you stay is really important. All hotels and hostels we use are suitable for young music ensembles with many offering rehearsal space and instrument storage. Rooms are normally multi-bedded for students and twins, sometimes singles, for adults. Generally, rooms are en-suite.
We have drawn up a comprehensive step-by-step Guide to planning a school music tour for first time tourers. This covers all aspects of tour planning from budgeting and fundraising, to choosing the right destination, accommodation and performing venues for your ensemble. Click here to read our Guide.
You should book your tour between 8-18 months in advance. This will give us time to find the best possible venues for your tour and you will have ample time for fundraising should you need to do so.
