World War One Centenary on the BBC

  • Jun 02, 2014

The BBC’s four-year season of programmes commemorating the centenary of World War One continues tonight with a programme about former rugby and football players who fought in the Great War.

England Rugby World Cup winner Josh Lewsey will present the programme which tells the story of the sacrifice made by rugby and football players during the war and how they shaped the game as it’s played today.

To remember the men who died, Josh plays in a special centenary rugby match.
