Discover the vivid record of how religion evolved in Germany during the Reformation in the 16th century where the Renaissance, a humanistic movement, spread to Germany, and many came to question the absolute power of the Catholic Church.

  • Erfurt Protestant Augustinian Monastery: The church and monastery of the Augustinian hermits where Martin Luther, the famous Augustinian monk, where he resided from 1501.
  • “Martin Luther” Guided Tour: visit the significant sites and monuments associated with Martin Luther.
  • Martin Luther House: the world’s largest museum for the history of the Reformation.
  • Leipzig: Centre of the Reformation: visit St. Thomas Church and the Museum of City History.

You’ll be based at Leipzig youth hostel.

Sample Itinerary

Day One

Travel to Berlin by air and transfer to Leipzig by coach. Visit some of the city’s iconic sites such as St. Thomas Church and the Museum of City History.

Day Two

After Breakfast travel to Erfurt to visit the famous Protestant Augustinian Monastery. After lunch enjoy a guided tour based on the life of Martin Luther.

Day Three

Depart your accommodation after breakfast and travel to Eisleben to visit the house where Martin Luther lived and spent the last years of his life.

Day Four

Spend the morning with a visit to St. Nicholas Church to see the Luther Pulpit. Time for lunch, followed by further exploration of Leipzig’s rich culture.

Day Five

Check out of your accommodation and transfer to the airport for your return flight.
