If you’re looking for a new exciting way to engage both your Classics and Geography students, why not consider a trip to the Bay of Naples?

For Classics students, visits to Pompeii, Mount Vesuvius, or the island of Capri offers fantastic opportunities to discover the ancient history surrounding this beautiful landscape.

While the Bay of Naples, offers lots of opportunities for Geography students: visit Pompeii, a city almost perfectly preserved by volcanic ash; see Herculaneum, a town destroyed by pyroclastic flows; and climb Mount Vesuvius to see up close the caldera of one of the most famous stratovolcanoes. The area also offers great opportunities to study both coastal and rural environments as well as the impact of tourism.

If you’ve had trouble launching a trip in the past due to low numbers, this is a great destination to combine your two departments, which can really boost the number of students attending the trip.
