Our congratulations to all the athletes and supporters who took part in the Tri4Duchenne triathlon earlier this month.
Club Europe was one of the sponsors of the event which has raised an amazing £325K.
The money raised is going to fund research into this debilitating disease. The event was organised by parents of four year old Jamie Latham, a Duchenne sufferer. “The money we raised will make a huge difference to the Duchenne Children’s Trust,” said Justine, Jamie’s mother, “to help save Jamie’s life and other little boys like him.”
Emily Crossley Founder of the Duchenne Children’s Trust commented: “It’s difficult to articulate just how devastating it can be for a family to receive a diagnosis of Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy. But for the first time in the history of this disease there is a real chance for us to make a difference.
“You are all going to be a part of changing that future, to change this disease for this generation of boys. And for that, I can’t thank you enough.”
We are organising next year’s ski trip for students from Jamie’s school, the Thomas London Day School. They will be skiing in Radstadt in Austria.
