school music tour in Folkestone
Youth Music Tours Post

Sun, sea and great concerts

July 11, 2022

Alex Parsons Head of Music from a school in Kent has just returned from a wonderful orchestra and choir tour to the South coast.

This was the school's second tour with Club Europe.

The young musicians performed three concerts: at the Clock Tower Plaza in Herne Bay, on the seafront and in bandstands in Canterbury and Folkestone. The ensembles also had time on their four-day tour to explore Folkestone, visit Canterbury Cathedral and enjoy time on the beach near their accommodation.

Alex said: “Three words sum up our tour: Together, easy and fun!!

The hotel was simply brilliant. The accommodation and location went above and beyond our expectations. The staff were incredibly helpful and accommodating. Nothing was too much trouble. And the food was fantastic.

All our concerts where well planned and Sabine (our Operations Manager) was very flexible in her approach, helping us to organise excursions at the last minute. The communication with Club Europe was prompt and I always felt in the loop despite the ever-changing situation.

I was super impressed with Lee. His driving was phenomenal, safely executing  some tricky manoeuvres with a full coach. We were always on time. He was very conscientious, helping unload equipment and offering his expertise. I have been so impressed with the coach drivers supplied on both tours by Club Europe. It makes such a difference having a quality coach driver.

Well done to the wonderful 44 students who took part in our tour. They were a credit to themselves and our school.

This tour was a much-welcomed opportunity for students to share a wonderful experience; students from year 7-13 built a marvellous musical community and played some amazing shows. They learnt reliability, flexibility, determination, communication and fraternity!

Next time we’re considering a tour back in Europe.”
