Valkenburg is quiet enough to be safe but lively enough to keep the kids interested. The staff were unbelievably helpful. Rosie was incredible, friendly, welcoming, realistic in her expectations of the students.

I was impressed with the ability to talk directly to Alahree and Ed as they were able to sort out issues for us directly. Overall: a really good time, the pupils had a fantastic experience and won a silver medal into the bargain.

It was excellent. The staff were excellent and extremely helpful in all aspects. The food was outstanding, excellent standard and a very good range of choices, nobody could have left hungry.

The rooms were clean and comfortable and the restaurant and bar area were beautifully quirky and had excellent facilities for the pupils to use, which helped to keep them entertained. Monique and her staff were the ultimate hosts and were friendly and helpful way beyond the call of duty. The quality of the food was superb. It is the first school trip abroad that I have been on where the pupils have all eaten well and been complimentary about the food, which was the right balance of being appealing to children of that age, whilst also healthy with a good mix of options including fresh salad every night.”

[Lucy was] fantastic. Nothing was any problem and response to any communication was always very prompt. [Sabine was] again fantastic. Always quick response to any communication. Everything was put in palce early and worked well for us. Deadlines clear and any problems we had were clearly communicated and sorted. A lovely place to visit with a great itinerary.

Concerts Review

[On an outdoor concert] Being an outdoor event, lots of people stopped and listened at various points whilst some enjoyed lunch/coffee whilst they listened. Great weather for an outdoor concert. Worked very well for us. Highlight was knowing that everything worked and the programme worked, especially the tech side – the students were great. Great performance area and the maze was fun. All students from age 12 – 18 really enjoyed it. [On a church oncert] Lovely performance venue and they happily helped us to move items around. Although a church venue they were happy for us to perform whatever music we wanted. They said they were a public space. [On another church concert] This was the most successful performance. Maastricht was busy. We had a standing ovation and performed an encore – a great success.

Maze was great fun. Students enjoyed the velvet caves and castle ruins. Hoensbroek Castle great. Students enjoyed the activities at the castle. Free time in Valkenburg went well and boat trip at Maastricht great fun as was the bowling. Very happy with what we chose and also everything was very close so we did not have to travel more that 45 minutes to anywhere.

Accommodation Review

The accommodation was phenomenal. Rosie, was a fantastic host and nothing was too much. We arrived late and she was very accommodating with re-organising eating later. Nothing was too much trouble for Rosie. Great location. Valkenburg was easily accessible and there is a lovely garden at the hotel; it was a quiet location. A super little family hotel where the hostess really looks after her guests. Great to have students in pairs and we enjoyed having individual rooms. Food was great. Best accommodation that we have had so far.

Armelle was great – no problems. Talked with the students and staff freely. She contacted each venue the day before to ensure everything was in place and dealt with any minor problems. She was very helpful.
