Travel advice and insurance

Travel Insurance

We've got you covered with a custom travel insurance policy courtesy of Endsleigh Insurance, included with all our tours.

At Club Europe, we firmly believe that safety and enjoyment go hand in hand when planning a tour. That's why, when you book a trip with us, it's a requirement that you secure appropriate and valid specialist group travel insurance for the entire duration of your journey.

In our commitment to your safety, Club Europe has joined forces with Endsleigh Insurance to craft a tailor-made group travel insurance policy that shields you against an array of unexpected risks.

This comprehensive coverage includes:

  • Cancellation and trip curtailment due to illness, injury, or unfortunate circumstances resulting in the need to return home.
  • The costs associated with repatriation back to your home country in the event of a medical emergency.
  • Inclusivity for over 100 sports and activities as a standard feature under this group policy, with all the specifics detailed in the activity guide lists within the group policy documents.

The group policy has been established to benefit those embarking on a trip (the beneficiary/beneficiaries) with Club Europe (the group policyholder).

Before finalising your booking, it is imperative that you thoroughly review the insurance policy to understand the extent of the coverage it offers. We recommend sending insurance details to all trip participants at the time of booking to ensure everyone, including parents or guardians for those under 18, is well-informed about the complete terms of the policy.

If you choose to take out travel insurance with Club Europe, please bear in mind that your policy will become active as soon as we receive deposits for all group members. If this coverage doesn't meet your specific needs, you have the option to opt out of the Endsleigh policy.

Let us know within 14 days of booking if you wish to do so.

Passports and Visas

It is the group leader’s responsibility to ensure all passports and visas are both up to date and valid for entry into the country or countries you will be visiting.

Group leaders must liaise directly with parents to ensure all passports and visas are up to date and valid for entry into the country or countries their students will be visiting.

It is the parents' responsibility to confirm whether their child needs a visa to travel and to oversee this process. A useful website to help parents with acquiring visas is Student Expedition Extras. Click on your "destination" and follow the instructions.

We recommend starting the visa application process as soon as you have confirmed the booking, as some embassies require at least 6 months to provide appointments.

Club Europe will provide the necessary documents to assist but can only do this once we have received the following:

  •           First deposits: to confirm the trip is taking place.
  •           Passenger names & gender for those needing visas (as they appear in the passport).
  •           Dates of birth for those needing visas.

Please note that failure to obtain a travel visa and therefore inability to travel is not an insurable cancellation condition. The cancellation will therefore be liable to our standard cancellation terms.

If you are a GEMS school, GEMS have an approved Travel agency, Al Rostamani Travels, which can offer visa services. They have a dedicated email - ART-GEMS@alrostamanigroup.ae

The UK Global Health Insurance Card (GHIC)

Under Britain’s new agreement with the EU, UK residents can continue to access emergency care in the EU, using the new GHIC, which will gradually replace existing European Health Insurance Cards (EHIC).

EHIC and GHIC cards offer equivalent protection and you only need to apply for a GHIC when your EHIC expires.

The GHIC is free and you can apply for one here
