Fantastic youth steel band event

This week we’ll be at Classorama, an exciting competition event for young steel bands and orchestras.

Organised by the Steel Pan Trust, this annual competition for primary and secondary steel bands – now in its second year – emulates the Panorama competition held in Trinidad and in the UK. This year it’s being held in Kilburn, North West London.

Among the judges will be Princess Rollock, an arranger, composer, recording artist, and Panorama judge, Debi Gardner a member of Mangrove Steelband and Secretary for the British Association of Steelbands and Paul Dowie, who with Croydon Steel Orchestra (CSO) has been competing in the UK Panorama Competition and the London Notting Hill Carnival for ten years.

As passionate steelpan touring enthusiasts, we’re delighted to be involved with this great project. Our own Senior Account Alahree Manager McDonell-Reid, who herself plays with the Melodians Steel Orchestra, will be hosting a stand at the event with fellow Concert Account Manager Chris Taylor.
