Our Covid Promise to you – transparent and tailor-made to ensure the best outcome for you

Our Promise

We have updated our Covid Promise following the positive updates given by the Department for Education. This is our commitment to working with all our schools - whether you're a booked client or a prospective client - on an individual basis to ensure the best possible outcome for you.

Despite our best efforts, the school travel industry has been unable to secure insurance to cover against non-FCDO issues, such as the current Department for Education (DfE) ban on international trips, local lockdowns etc. Although no commercial insurer will provide this cover, we believe that schemes such as RPA and some school insurers may continue to cover these eventualities. In any event, it is our pledge to ensure that, if any DfE restrictions are in place that could disrupt your trip, we will work to either postpone your tour to a later date or issue you with as much refund as we are able to secure from our suppliers. This has been our approach throughout the pandemic and we believe we have acted in the best interests of our clients to deliver a solution that is fair.

Our tailored Promise fits around your group offering new flexible terms and is offered to both booked and prospective clients, as we see no reason to distinguish:

Full cash refund or deferral of your tour to a future date should FCDO advice be in place for your tour destination 30 days prior to departure, providing your payments are up to date.
Full cash refund or deferral if quarantine of more than 24hrs is required on arrival at destination, providing your payments are up to date.
Flexibility on deposit payment amounts.
Flexibility of deposit due dates.
Flexibility on final payment date.
Flexibility on final numbers – up to 10% reduction in your tour numbers, with no loss of deposits on those reductions, before submission of final passenger list. We reserve the right to recost the tour on the basis of lower numbers.

Peace of Mind

We are proud to be a small family-run company offering a ‘never let you down’ personal service to everyone who travels with us.

Despite the huge challenges Covid presents, we see no reason to change now! In the height of the pandemic we were one of the few travel companies to - where it was possible - issue full refunds. We contacted all our clients quickly and worked with them individually to ensure the best possible outcome for their school; whether this was a full refund, a deferral or cancellation of their tour.

We fully intend to continue to treat all our clients in the same honest and honourable way we have always done.

In Safe Hands

We are learning how to overcome the practical challenges posed by Covid-19 and have worked closely with the School Travel Forum (of which we are founder members) to develop a comprehensive Covid-19 standards safety document - In Safe Hands.

This outlines the protocols needed to be put in place by schools and all STF tour providers to ensure pupils and teachers can travel with confidence when the time is right.

It includes:

A 24/7 teacher's helpline
A destination tracker with up-to-date protocols; and
A raft of risk assessment, contingency planning and trip management advice.

Our team is also taking part in ongoing Covid safety training through the STF.

New Safety Measures

Some of our new safety measures will include:

Safety on your coach tour:

Where students are not in a bubble, we will be limiting the number of travellers on our coaches to observe social distancing rules.
All our drivers will wear masks and visors and hand sanitiser will be used by everyone before they step on board.
All our coach companies will introduce new cleaning protocols and new loading and unloading procedures.

Safety on your trip:

All our accommodation centres will provide you with details of their new Covid-secure safety protocols, ranging from temperature checks and new hygiene procedures to contactless payments.
We are adapting our itineraries to ensure the safety of our students at all times.
We will adhere to and keep up to date with all the necessary protocols at airports and during airport transfers to ensure our flight groups are safe.

We will ensure that all the restaurants, educational and activity centres, museums, galleries and performing venues we use will have the most up-to-date Covid safety procedures in place.
