Amsterdam is a wonderful destination for a school trip. This vibrant, beautiful city has plenty to enjoy and offers a great insight into businesses large and small. From traditional local industries such as clog workshops and flour mills to international goods trading at nearby Rotterdam’s Europoort, there is much to experience on a Business Studies trip to Amsterdam.
Day 1
Depart school and travel to Amsterdam. Transfer to accommodation and visit Amsterdam’s trade union museum.
Day 2
Travel to Rotterdam’s Europoort and take a boat tour around the harbour. Afternoon visit to Heineken Brewery or visit the famous Anne Frank Museum.
Day 3
Morning visit to De Zaanse Schan. Explore the 18th century village and enjoy the views from the top of the windmills. Travel to Aalsmeer Flower Auction for the afternoon.
Day 4
Depart accommodation for journey back to school.
Explore historical roles of trade unions and learn how they strive for a compromise, not a fight.
Visit small businesses such as the cheese factory, workshops and mills in this unique 18th-19th century residential area.
Learn about the complex auction system and take a tour around the auction house.
Understand why this port is such a hub for international goods trading.
Explore this famous brewery and learn about the production process.
