Our self-contained language Centre in the pretty village of Le Quiou in the rural area of Brittany is an ideal environment for a single-group, immersive language learning tour. The centre is 15 minutes south of the idyllic Dinan with its Vieux Port and medieval centre. Brittany is famous for its fishing industry, unspoilt beaches, and its rich history and architecture. A trip to nearby Mont Saint-Michel in Normandy is a highlight of this tour.
The co-owner of our Centre is a former director of studies and head of languages. The owners can speak French in the centre and restaurant to give total immersion. The centre can tailor the stay to the needs of each group.
Day 1
Transfer to our centre. Relax and orientation at centre.
Day 2
Morning French language session. Visit the magical Mont-Saint-Michel, among France’s most stunning sights. In the afternoon, enjoy a village quiz in the local area, see a Roman archaeological site, as well as the 14th-century Château du Hac.
Day 3
Morning French language session. Visit a local oyster farm and take part in a workshop. In the afternoon, discover the port city of Saint-Malo with its stunning aquarium and beach.
Day 4
Practise your language skills at Dinan’s market. Exploration of town in groups based on ‘jeu de l’oie’ discovery game. Afternoon French language session followed by a traditional game of boules bretonnes. Evening barbeque at the centre, weather permitting.
Day 5
Depart for school.
A tidal power station on the estuary of the Rance River in Brittany. A 30-minute drive from the centre, near Saint-Malo, the station offers guided tours for school groups.
Take the opportunity to explore these rocky shores.
The local Falun stone from the prehistoric Mer des Faluns is ‘workable’ and can be used for art activities on site.
Our Centre provides a traditional French breakfast, a picnic or fully-catered lunch, and a 3 or 4 course evening dinner, all featuring French-style cuisine. There is also a crêperie opposite the centre. The centre has a multi-purpose games hall with table tennis, badminton, table football and pool table for evening down-time.
