The stunning cityscape of Prague with its medieval architecture offers an amazing array of opportunities for Business Studies students. The economic history of the Czech Republic since 1945 can investigated through a visit to the Museum of Communism, followed by tours of some of the leading companies in Europe, including Skoda and the Becherovka Distillery. An eye-opening lecture can also be delivered at CERGE-EI.
Day 1
Arrive in Prague. Afternoon themed guided walking tour of Prague. Evening bowling.
Day 2
Morning visit to the Skoda Car Plant, including introductory film and tour through the various stages of the manufacture of a car. Afternoon tour of the Bohemian Crystal factory. Or full day excursion to PETROF, one of Europe’s biggest piano manufacturers and exporters, situated in Hradec Králové which is approx. 100 km outside Prague.
Day 3
Visit to Tesco Central Distribution Centre with a guided tour through the computerized logistic centre. Visit to the Czech Republic’s second largest brewery Staropramen for a guided tour of the production process followed by a tasting.
Day 4
Time to shop and sightsee before flight home.
