James Clements, Director of Music from a prep school in London had a 'absolutely fabulous' first choir tour to Sommières in the South of France. Here he tells us why.
I could not have asked for a better location or accommodation. The staff, facilities and the food at the hotel were outstanding. We used all of the facilities: the swimming pool. the rehearsal room, the kitchenette, the dinning room and the grounds. It was absolutely fantastic and very suitable for our age group. I would throughly recommend it!
We performed on the marina, in a town square and in the gardens of a chateau. At one concert the audience shouted for an encore, which was a highlight for the pupils. After the concert in the town square some of the locals came to chat to the children, which was lovely.
Our tour manager Katie was simply outstanding and perfect in all respects on the tour with the pupils and staff. Her willingness to help at all times, as well as being wholly solutions based made the tour such a success for us. Katie’s contribution was vital. She booked the pool for us, she rescheduled collections if we were running late, dealt with the tiniest issues at the hotel and got stuck in with the staff to contribute to anything and everything. Overall Katie was absolute fantastic.
Our drivers, Rachel and Olly, were also outstanding, very friendly and always 100% helpful. It was clear their aim was to help us as much as possible, and they went above and beyond. They were so accommodating with last minute itinerary changes and established an excellent rapport with the pupils and adults in the group.
